Why we love it
We feel a kinship with Haa-Nee-Naa: a remote island, light tackle, and chinook big enough to earn the name Tyee. We are thrilled their gift shop carries our Creative Artisan pewter, and especially thrilled by the Tyee connection, since Haa-Nee-Naa ordered our Tyee pins for a lodge where 30-pound-plus fish are not a myth but a season's expectation.
The experience
Haa-Nee-Naa is fly-in, far-north BC fishing from the only lodge on Dundas Island, tucked into a cove 35 miles out of Prince Rupert. Spring and early summer belong to mooching for big chinook close to the island; by August the boats turn into fly-fishing platforms and the coho take over the shallows. Halibut and lingcod fill the gaps, and everything, flights, meals, gear and fish packing, is handled in one package.
The fish
Each fish links to its pewter counterpart in our shop, the version of the catch that never has to be released.
Take the trip home
Dundas Island grows Tyee-class chinook, and Haa-Nee-Naa has ordered our Tyee pins for its anglers. Here they are, with the coho that follow in August.
