A large and handsome breed known for its striking black and tan coat, the Gordon Setter originates from Scotland and is revered for its prowess in bird hunting, especially with waterfowl like the mallard duck. This breed is characterized by a strong, muscular build, a long and silky coat, and a dignified yet friendly expression. Their deep black coat with distinctive tan markings on the eyebrows, chest, and paws, coupled with their long, feathery tail, adds to their elegant appearance. Gordons are intelligent, loyal, and affectionate, forming close bonds with their families. They are particularly skilled in the field, showing great patience and an excellent nose, which makes them exceptional at tracking and retrieving, especially in waterfowl hunting. Active and energetic, Gordon Setters require regular exercise and thrive in environments that allow them to explore and work. Their friendly disposition makes them great family pets, and their loyalty and alertness also make them good watchdogs. Regular grooming is necessary to maintain their beautiful coat. The Gordon Setter's combination of elegance, skill, and affectionate nature makes it a cherished companion for hunting enthusiasts and active families alike.

Craft & construction
Built to stay put. Our pins have two posts and clutches which hold it flat and ensure a spin-free application wherever you display it. It solves a common pin complaint. The 1/4-inch steel tacks are long enough to pass through most fabrics, about 1/4 inch, yet short enough to sit flush. And each clutch seats into a small groove on the post with a firm, satisfying click — haptic feedback that tells you it's locked, and a detail cheaper pins skip.
Hand-painted, marine-grade finish. Each hand-painted piece is carefully painted by an artisan right in our studio in Port Gamble, WA. The proprietary multistep process includes priming each piece followed by meticulous painting by hand in acrylics with fine detail work to bring the item to life with incredible detail. The final step adds a coating of marine-grade epoxy — a hard, clear finish that protects the artwork so our product can be used on a boat, outside, or other conditions highly resistant to fading or wear.
Certified American pewter. The antiqued finish is completely safe to touch — and the craft behind it has been refined over three decades. Each batch of pewter that arrives at our shop in Port Gamble, WA from an American supplier comes with a lab test showing the material is lead free.
Ready to give. Every item arrives attached to a backing card and sealed in plastic — clean, protected, and presentable as a gift the moment it arrives.
