The Largemouth Bass, commonly nicknamed "Bucketmouth" or "Bigmouth," is a popular freshwater game fish native to North America. Renowned for its impressive size and fighting spirit, it's a favorite among anglers. This species belongs to the sunfish family and is closely related to the Smallmouth Bass and Spotted Bass. Characterized by a large mouth extending past its eyes, a robust body, and a deep green coloring with a series of dark blotches forming a jagged horizontal stripe, the Largemouth Bass is a formidable predator in its habitat. They typically inhabit clear, vegetated lakes, rivers, and swamps where they prey on fish, crustaceans, frogs, and insects. Largemouth Bass are known for their explosive strikes and aerial acrobatics when hooked, making them a thrilling catch. They play a significant role in sport fishing and have become a symbol of freshwater angling, celebrated in fishing tournaments and recreational fishing circles alike for their size and the challenge they present.

Craft & construction

Powerful magnets that actually hold. Our magnet strengths have a pull rating of at least 3 lbs, and go up to 7 lbs for larger pieces. These are not the cheaper ferrite/ceramic magnets. They are high quality neodymium and pack enough pull-strength to grip firmly and hold to a refrigerator with more than a single sheet of paper or photo between. Our magnets are bonded in our studio by an artisan with an industrial-strength adhesive to ensure they never come loose.

Hand-painted, marine-grade finish. Each hand-painted piece is carefully painted by an artisan right in our studio in Port Gamble, WA. The proprietary multistep process includes priming each piece followed by meticulous painting by hand in acrylics with fine detail work to bring the item to life with incredible detail. The final step adds a coating of marine-grade epoxy — a hard, clear finish that protects the artwork so our product can be used on a boat, outside, or other conditions highly resistant to fading or wear.

Certified American pewter. The antiqued finish is completely safe to touch — and the craft behind it has been refined over three decades. Each batch of pewter that arrives at our shop in Port Gamble, WA from an American supplier comes with a lab test showing the material is lead free.

Ready to give. Every item arrives attached to a backing card and sealed in plastic — clean, protected, and presentable as a gift the moment it arrives.
